A1. There is no application fee or screening fee.

Q2. When can I apply?

A2. Applications will be accepted from Tuesday, September 1, 2026, via the "Apply" button on the official website.

Q3. When is the deadline?

A3. The deadline is November 10th, 2026 (Tuesday) at 17:00. Applications received after the deadline will not be accepted, so please apply with plenty of time to spare.

Q4. If I apply by self-nomination, is it better to get recommendations from others as well?

A4. No. There is no advantage or disadvantage in the selection process based on whether you nominate yourself or someone else. The number of nominations you receive will not affect your evaluation.

Q5. Can I submit entries for any type of cuisine?

A5. Yes. While this award does not limit itself to any particular genre, it focuses on dishes that comprehensively express local ingredients, food culture, and relationships with producers through a single plate (served as a meal) or other culinary creation.

The judging process is not divided into categories based on genre; all applicants will be evaluated using the same criteria.

A6. Yes. While this award does not limit itself to any particular genre, it focuses on dishes that express local ingredients, food culture, and the relationship with producers. Judging is not divided into genre categories; all applicants are evaluated using the same criteria.

Q7. The tasting judging and awards ceremony are on Sunday. Can I still apply if I'm unable to attend?

A7. You can apply. However, if you advance to the tasting judging stage, you will be required to participate on the designated date. Also, if you win an award, you will be asked to attend the awards ceremony. If you are unable to attend due to unavoidable circumstances, please contact the secretariat in advance.

A8. In order to ensure fairness, the detailed scoring and evaluation criteria are not disclosed during the application period.

This award comprehensively evaluates not only the deliciousness of the dishes, but also the chef's understanding of Shizuoka's ingredients and food culture, their relationship with producers, their contributions to the local community, their sustainable practices, and their philosophy and vision for the future.

In the application form, please describe your efforts and thoughts regarding these topics, and we will review your application based on that information.

Q9. What are the prizes for winning?

A9. Award winners will receive a commemorative plaque, as well as opportunities to promote the appeal of Shizuoka's food culture to a wider audience.

Depending on the type of award, the following benefits are planned:

Awarding of commendation plaques
Media coverage and information dissemination
Participation in and introduction of tourism projects and events that promote the culinary attractions of Shizuoka.
Introductions on the official website and social media, etc.

Q10. What kind of chefs can apply?

A10. We welcome applications from a wide range of chefs working in the target area, regardless of genre, including Japanese, Western, Chinese, French, and Italian cuisine.

This award seeks a wide range of chefs who, rather than focusing on culinary genre or fame, cherish Shizuoka's ingredients and food culture, engage with producers and local communities, and promote the appeal of food.
